Words+Art
Words+Art was a telecollaborative project based in Singapore in which students compiled their own images and artwork which will be accompanied by a story, fable, poem or journal. This is similar to our project, but it not collaborative in the creation and editing of the work as ours is. The Words+Art project was a repository of information, not so much a collaboration of ideas. Our project expands on this concept of sharing, but also brings in the collaboration between classes in the learning as well.

Monster Exchange
Monster Exchange is very similar to the classic "Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich" project in which students write directions for how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a classmate has to follow them EXACTLY. I have done this project with my class before and it is great fun and truly shows the students how important word choice and exact explanations are. In Monster Exchange, directions on how to draw an already drawn monster are created by a student and posted online or sent to another student via e-mail. Then, following only the directions giving, students are supposed to accurately redraw the orignal monster! The ideas in this project are very similar to the I Write It, You Picture It! project's goals; helping students paint a visual picture through word choice, adverbs, adjectives, and figurative language.
