Book Buddies

Book Buddies was created to help motivate students to read regularly. At the end of this project students will increase their love of reading as well as increase their critical thinking skills. Students will also develop better social skills with their peers. Every month students will have to read at least two books of their choice. However, there will be a different genre to read for each particular month. The books must be approved by the student's homeroom teacher. Students must create a book report for each book they read; a minimum of two reports must be turned in. Students may turn in the traditional book report sheet or participate in "Book Buddies" online. "Book Buddies" will help motivate those children who do not turn in traditional book reports so they will still get credit for completing the assignments.

Project Goals:

At the end of the project each student will have read at least two books per month.
Students will complete at least one project for each book read.
Each student will read at least two books from each designated genre.
Each student will present their report(s) using various forms of technology.
