This page was created as a portion to my ET630 class at Loyola College. This is one of many classes offered at Loyola as a portion of their Educational Technology Graduate School program. I am currently an elementary Physical Education teacher in Baltimore County, Maryland. Many of the projects included in this site bring together physical education and technology integration. In this particular class four projects were completed:
This page will fulfill the requirements laid out for the Web Page Project. It contains multiple links to other pages, both pages used in this project and external links. It provides multiple lesson plans in the other projects that are listed below. It also contains HTML, Java, and CSS. To view the codes that create this page click on view, scroll down and click on source. This will bring up all the coding for this page. All pictures used in these web pages are copyright free and from sources such as Pics4Learning.
This project was completed on a seperate page. Please click here on Crit Lit to view the project. This project provides a lesson plan to have students in the 5th grade complete this assignment. It provides differing view points of physical education with one main site supporting each standpoint. It also provides other web pages that support physical education, and web pages that review the two main sources being used in this project.
The Web 2.0 project entailed using three different types of Web 2.0 technologies. I used a blog through Blogspot, a wiki with Central Desktop, and a Microblog using Twitter. You can view my blog by clicking Here. You can view my use of the other Web 2.0 technologies by clicking on their links located within my blog. I also attempted to explore a new Web 2.0 called P.E. Zone, which is also explored a little bit in my blog. The site seemed promising at first glace, but ended up being disappointing while exploring it. However, in the weeks following my research I got many emails informing me of updates to the site including a network zone (similar to facebook or myspace) and also included the option to be able to have video chats and other video posting options. In the future this may be a valuable website for P.E. teachers, but for the time being it is developing well.
This project is dedicated to exploring telecollaborative projects on the internet that involves physical education. I have explored four different projects on the internet and written about each of them. Each write up of these web projects describes how well they would meet my objectives as a physical education teacher. There are links below for each of the projects that I evaluated. Please click on them and browse through what I found and my take on how these internet projects affect a physical education setting. On each of these links, below the write ups there are sample lesson plans that include a variety of activities and even field trip possibilities.
