Critical Information Literacy Project

Telecollaborative Project

Outstanding education today appropriately incorporates technology in a manner that enhances the curriculum. Here you will see a collection of projects that seek to enhance the teaching and learning experience for teachers and for students.

My Web 2.0 Blog Project discusses several technologies such as Wikis, Diigo, RSS, Twitter, and Friendfeed that can, when used appropriately, dramatically improve the classroom experience and extend learning beyond the typical school day. Rubric requirements.

The Critical Information Literacy Project focuses on teaching critical web evaluation skills to Middle School Social Studies students by exploring media biases in web coverage of the 2008 presidential Election. The project is designed as a lesson plan for teachers and can be adapted to any discussion about bias as reflected in media websites. This project also satisfies the requirements for the Website project as described in the Rubric requirements.

The Telecollaborative Project prepares a class to participate in the "What's It Like to Be a Teenager In.." project, an international effort to expose Middle School students to lifestyles, habits, hopes and dreams of teenagers from around the world through shared vodcasting.
