Day 1:

   1. Go to http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/food_fitness/dieting/obesity.html.
    2. As a class, you will evaluate the website using a Website Evaluation Form.
        Go to the rubric page to print out your own copy.
    3. Using the Website Evaluation Form, evaluate 
        http://www.annecollins.com/child-obesity-causes.htm.
    4. Write a paragraph explaining how to evaluate a website and why it is important to evaluate
        websites.
        Before handing the paragraph into your teacher, be sure to self assess your rubric using the
        Writing Rubric. Go to the rubric page to print out your own copy.

Day 2:

    1. Go onto the Internet and find two websites on teen obesity. If directed by your teacher,
        go to the website page to get a list of suggested sites.
    2. Fill out a website evaluation form for each website. Go to the rubric page to print out your own
        copy.
    3. Present your website to their partner and discuss whether you think the webpage you found is
        quality website and if it should be used to gather information.
    4. With your partner write a brief paragraph about each webpage you found and explain why you
        think it is or is not a quality website. Before handing the paragraph into your teacher, be sure to
        self assess your paragraph using the Writing Rubric. Go to the rubric page to print out your
        own copy.

Day 3:

    1. Gather information from the websites provided by your teacher.
    2. Write a letter to the Board of Education explaining the dangers of obesity and provide
        suggestions on what the district should do to help fight the disease.
    3. Include in the letter a list of the websites you used to gather your information.
    4. Before handing in your letter to your teacher, be sure to self assess your letter using the
        Writing Rubric. Go to the rubric page to print out your own copy.
