Title: Reservoir Weather Watchers
Author: Jon Phillips
Email: jonathan_phillips@hcpss.org
Project Summary: 1. ALS Students will collect  weather data (specifically temperature and precipitation) for the first quarter of the academic year..
                            2. The data collected will be entered in an Excel Spreadsheet on a weekly basis.
                            3. Students from Florida will also collect precipitation and temperature data and record their data in an Excel Spreadsheet.
                            4. Using Google Docs the data collected by both classes will be entered on an Excel Spredsheet which includes a graph which will                                                  provide a visual of the data recorded.
                            5. A blog has been set up which we have titled Weather Watchers where the two classes will be able (with the proper permissions) to share
information about their local  weather and respond to teacher prompts.
                            6. Finally, in addition to the above data collected Reservoir ALS students will locate local temperature and precipitation data for ten years
and use this information to compare with what they have collected. They will post their summary findings on the Weather Watchers blog
and relate what they have found to the current debate over global warming.

How I have exceeded the minimum requirements in this project.

    1. In addition to creating a detailed plan I have also created a blog in which students will have a chance to communicate information about the weather in the
        areas where they live.
     2. I have created an interactive spreadsheet within which the students from Maryland and Florida may enter their data and refer to an attrached chart to
         observe trends.
     3. I have included a critical thinking activity based on the data collect in which the students will consider the existance of and ramifications of global warming.
