ET630 TeleCommunications in the Classroom

Those of us driving in Howard County have seen these magnetic signs on many of the vehicles in the county.

This program, which was begun in 2006 is based on the book "Choosing Civility" by Dr. Forni of Johns Hopkins who is also the cofounder of the Johns Hopkins Civility Project.

The Reservoir High School ALS Class will be examining various opinions, web sites, and articles relating to the idea of "civility" and the programs in place which hope to promote a more "civil" environment. We will also examine and discuss the implications of civility and its relationship to freedom of speech.
Using a number of resources such as books, web sites and blogs we hope to achieve a greater understanding of civility and how it might benefit us and how .

On the following Resources and Contact Information page students have access to a variety of tools and resources which will facilitate their examination of the topic. Contact information is also included.
On the Assignments and Activities page you will find an overview of assignments and activities which will be completed in school and at home.

The purpose of this project is to examine the need for the "Choose Civility" project and to also evaluate the credibility of web-based information sources.
