Welcome to the FRES Technology Class Website!

This year each student at Forest Ridge Elementary School will receive technology instruction during the related arts block. We will collaborate with classroom teachers to enhance your child's learning through the use of technology. Students will learn acceptable use, proper care and use, copyright laws, and various software programs. Students will use and create blogs, wikis, and podcasts. Students will also have access to digital cameras. We will discuss the impact technology has on our daily lives and the numerous uses of technology. Please visit this site frequently for updates.

What Will Students be Learning in Technology?

Our goal is teach students responsible use of technology. Two major focuses will be Acceptable Use of Computer Technology and Copyright Laws. It is important that staff, students, and parents understand both.
What exactly is an Acceptable Use Policy?
  • The Acceptable Use Policy informs staff, students, and teachers the rules and expectations regarding computer use.
  • If the rules are not followed, computer access is lost.
  • Student Friendly PowerPoint: Click here to view!
  • HCPSS Policy 8080 Acceptable Use of Computer Technology Read
What about Copyright?
  • The legal protection given to authors which protects them against unauthorized copying of their work.
  • Basically, the laws about copying and pasting another person's words and work.
  • Copyright for Kids Powerpoint:Learn all about the laws!
